Pelican Equipments was formed in early 1991 with the vision of two instrumentation professionals to offer such products and solutions to the agricultural and biological researchers that are totally indigenous and perfect to be considered as import alternatives. We had a humble beginning by starting operation with crude and raw technical ideas. We started attaining growth and recognition after working on thought of two professionals to start offering products that are alternative to foreign imported Protein, Fat and Fiber products. Our popular products are Auto Nitrogen Analyzer, Automatic Fibre Analyzer, Data Logger Series Soxhlet Apparatus, Kjeldahl Nitrogen Distillation System, Reciprocal Shaker, Kjeldahl Acid Neutralizer Scrubber, and many others.
Up until 1991, India had to incur significant foreign exchange losses in order to buy advanced N2 analyzers. In July, 1991, Automatic Kjeldhal Nitrogen Protein Analyser became the first Import Substitute product that was launched in India. Due to the innovative vision and pioneering efforts of two instrumentation chemists, this product was made in India and is now known as KEL PLUS Automatic Nitrogen Analyzer from Pelican Equipments, Chennai.
Our simple ideas then transformed into a thoughtful guide that enabled us to take a calculated risk and produce the first-ever Automatic Nitrogen Estimation System in India.
Currently, India has about 1500 automatic nitrogen analyzer installations made by the mother land.
